Win $5000 with ELLE magazine’s short story competition

ELLE magazine have launched their first ever writing competition (for short stories up to 4000 words). Not only is there $5000 up for grabs for the winner, their story will also be published in the January 2018 edition of ELLE.

From the ELLE website:

We're on the lookout for fiction's next superstar. Here at ELLE, we think emerging talent deserves all the support it can get, and we have a real soft spot for a great storyteller. So, we want you to show us your best work of fiction in our first-ever ELLE Writing Competition. If your dream involves being the next Jane Harper, Liane Moriarty or Zoë Foster Blake, now is the time to get started.

The judging panel consists of these superstars: Justine Cullen (ELLE‘s own editor-in-chief), Zoë Foster Blake (editor, columnist and author of The Wrong Girl), Vanessa Radnidge (publisher at Hachette Australia) and Michael Williams (Director of The Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas).

Entries close 3 November 2017, giving you plenty of time to perfect your craft with our new Short Story Essentials online course.

The best part is that the course is self-paced so you can do it in your own time. And you get feedback on your own short story from an experienced fiction editor. So that will maximise your changes of submitting the BEST version of your story into the competition.

You can find out more about how to enter via the ELLE website.
