“I got published!”: Jennifer Redmile

We love hearing from our students no matter what they have to say, but when we hear of a student being published, we just want to shout it from the rooftops! We’re a little scared of heights, so we’ll go with a blog post instead.

Jennifer says:

After completing the Australian Writers' Centre Creative Writing Stage 1 course online with Cathie Tasker in October last year, I signed up to participate in NaNoWriMo in November. I completed my 50,000 word novel and after a month of edits and rewrites I submitted it to a publisher, J Ellington Ashton Press in the US.

You could have knocked me down with a feather when they offered me a contract on Christmas Eve! The book was released on the 1st August 2015, and is now available as an ebookand in print. I also wrote and self-published a novella this month called What Ghost?

More than anything else, completing the course through the Australian Writers' Centre gave me the belief in my ability to write that led to the completion of my first novel, and the confidence to submit that novel to a publishing company.

Congratulations Jennifer! Wanna read what she wrote? Follow the links above.
