A fantastic opportunity is coming up, with the 2015 Sydney Writers’ Room (SWR) Short Story Competition opening for entries on 1 June.
According to SWR, stories should be limited to 2500 words and must be single-authored and unpublished. Entries are accepted online only, either as Word Documents or PDF files.
The first prize is $500 and a ‘hot desk’ membership at the SWR for three months (valued at an additional $600 AUD). There will also be a runner-up prize of $250.
Judging the 2015 Short Story Competition will be by SWR and an independent committee from the UTS Writers’ Society (UTSWS).
The Sydney Writers’ Room is a shared writing space located in the historic Trades Hall in Sydney’s CBD, and was inspired by the legendary New York Writers’ Room. It has been operating since 2007.
Entries close on 31 August 2015 and for further information, visit the Sydney Writers’ Room website.
