The Queenscliffe Literary Festival returns in 2016

After its successful inaugural event in 2015, the Queenscliffe Literary Festival will return again this year. This niche festival will take place across a variety of venues in the historical town of Queenscliff and the neighbouring town of Point Lonsdale, Victoria, with stand-alone events held across all weekends in May 2016. If you're looking for a weekend full of literature, music and food by the seaside, you'll love this festival!

From the press release:

Held across all weekends in May 2016, the Queenscliffe Literary Festival will bring a host of authors to the towns of Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale to reflect on the theme of “journeys” in all its guises.

We open the festival on Saturday 7 May at 6pm with Keynotes; highly acclaimed authors Don Watson and Robert Drewe discussing both their personal and public journeys with the ever ebullient Michael Williams, Director of the Wheeler Centre.

Your journey with the Queenscliffe Literary Festival will lead you along many roads, starting with the beach and the bush, travelling via the escapades of William Buckley, the archaeology of the Middle East, on pilgrimage along the Camino, exploring France and India, going back in time to view Australian war history, tales from a former lighthouse keeper, as well as discovering our rich architectural heritage, and a dash of crime along the way. Plus there's a piano concert and foodie treats.

With events ranging from panel discussions to sessions combining literature and music and literature and food, the authors include: Adam Ford, Anna Goldsworthy, Sally Hepworth, Jennifer Down, Gregory Day, Mark Dapin, Kara Rosenlund, Richard Allen, Dale Campisi, Christine Manfield, Dee Nolan, Gideon Haigh and Garry Disher.

The festival will also include a dedicated, free, school festival day for primary school and kindergarten children in the Borough of Queenscliffe, featuring children's authors and illustrators.
