Win $5000 and a publishing deal for your romance manuscript

Australian romance writing is heating up. And with the return of the XO Romance Prize for 2017, it’s going to get even more exciting.

If you’re an Australian romance writer with an unpublished manuscript, the XO Romance Prize will be right up your alley.

What’s up for grabs?

There’s a $5000 prize plus a publishing contract with Xoum Publishing, an independent Australian publisher.

From the media release:

“We believe in publishing Aussie voices and telling Aussie stories — and romance is a vital and vibrant part of this,” said Xoum Publishing Director Rod Morrison.

The XO Romance Prize launched in 2016 and the first winner was debut author Jean Flynn with her romantic comedy Lovesick. Lovesick was released in August 2017.

Jean Flynn had this to say about winning:

“Winning the inaugural XO Romance Prize not only gave my writing validation, it also meant getting the opportunity to work with a fantastic publisher and see Lovesick come to life,” Jean said. “It’s hard to believe that my manuscript is now an actual book, sitting on actual shelves, in actual bookshops. I’m so glad I entered.”

Entries for this year’s XO Romance Prize close at 5pm on Tuesday 31 October.
