‘Your Shout: The Open Issue’ Artlink Issue 47:1
EOI closes 23 November 2026
‘It's all in the art of the prompt’ as advocates of the latest tech-tools put it, and this one is over to you. “Your Shout: The Open Issue” invites writers to give a shout-out to the most pressing, most neglected, and most intriguing topics and ideas of the 2027 season.
As a prompt “Your Shout” is open to interpretation, but just saying… Artlink encourages ambitious and imaginative ways of (re)thinking, making, extending, and presenting contemporary art by living or recently departed artists and related discourse.
We welcome scholarly essays, interviews, reviews and critique, art-storytelling, profiles, art-historical and philosophical analysis, collaborative articles, letters to the editor, concrete poetry, and poetic complaints.
Artlink does not use AI to edit writers' work; our professional remit is to promote diverse writing from across Australia and the Asia-Pacific by writers who appreciate the struggle. Please note: our publishing is image-rich, so written material also requires visual thinking. It’s your shout, but Artlink pays: 70c/word for commissioned work between 1200 – 2500 words.
