Enter The Australian/Vogel’s Literary Award 2023

Exciting news – one of Australia's richest and most prestigious awards for an unpublished manuscript is now open! That’s right, The Australian/Vogel’s Literary Award for 2023 is welcoming submissions from writers under the age of 35. There’s publication with Allen & Unwin and $20,000 against royalties on offer for the winner. What are you waiting for?

As their website states, The Australian/Vogel's Literary Award has launched the careers of some of Australia's most successful writers, including Tim Winton, Kate Grenville, Gillian Mears, Brian Castro, Mandy Sayer and Andrew McGahan. Many authors have gone on to win or be shortlisted for other major awards, such as the Miles Franklin Award, the Commonwealth Writers' Prize and the Booker Prize.

Exciting stuff!

Your manuscript can be a work of fiction, Australian history or biography that's 50,000-80,000 words. Entrants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents and aged under 35 years of age on 31 May 2022 (that is born after 31 May 1987).

If you fit the criteria and have a manuscript aching to be published, we encourage you to take advantage of this amazing opportunity.
