What is the course commitment period?
The Fiction Mentorship is a minimum six-month commitment. This timeframe is essential to allow meaningful creative development, consistent mentor feedback, and sustained progress on your writing project.
Mentorship is charged either monthly or upfront, as selected in your application. By accepting a place in the program, you are committing to the full six-month period, regardless of your payment option.
What are the payment options?
Application fee: There is an application fee of $50, payable at the time of application.
If your application is successful, there are 2 payment options for the mentorship:
Option 1: Upfront payment – a single payment of $4,250 (payable upon successful application).
Option 2: Payment plan – six payments of $750, charged every 30 days starting on the first day of the mentorship (total $4,500). The mentorship start date will be agreed upon following a successful application. A receipt will be emailed to you after each payment.
How do I apply?

Please have the following ready to submit your application:
1. Credit card and contact information. The $50 application fee will be processed immediately. No further payment will be processed until your application is approved to proceed with the mentorship.
2. Your writing sample and application information. You will submit a document with the following information:
- A brief biography, including some discussion of your writing career and any qualifications.
- A synopsis of the novel you will be working on with your mentor.
- A statement about what you hope to gain from the mentorship process.
- A minimum of one and a maximum of five chapters of the work for which you want to be mentored.
- Other relevant examples of your creative writing in the same genre.
- Any other material you feel is relevant.
This must be submitted as a Word document.
How long will I need to wait to find out if my application is successful?
It takes no more than 3-5 business days for your application to be reviewed – and we’ll keep you updated if it will be any longer than that.
