COMP CLOSED: Double passes to “The Commuter” starring Liam Neeson

I know that most of our competitions are directly related to writing, authors or creatives. So I realise that this one is a long bow. But I love Liam Neeson action movies! So I had to share this with you.

Ever since I saw him in Taken, I’ve been a fan. And I’ll admit that’s in no small part due to him delivering one of the best lines in movie history. In fact, Esquire magazine stated: “Taken is the rare case of a movie franchise that has grown out of a single speech.”

If you’ve been living under a rock, here it is:

“I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don't have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you.” — Liam Neeson, Taken

But it’s all in the delivery so here it is for your viewing pleasure, when he speaks to the baddies who have taken his daughter:

And, just for giggles, here is Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane doing his version in the voice of Kermit the Frog:

I know.

Anyhow, I think I also secretly love the fact that a 65-year-old guy can be running around, saving the world and being an action star. So, ladies and gentlemen, it’s got nothing to do with writing (unless you love thrillers of course!) – and everything to do with my love for Takenhere is Liam Neeson in his latest film The Commuter.

Studiocanal is excited to release new blockbuster The Commuter (opening 18 January 2018), an action-packed thriller starring fan-favourite Liam Neeson as an ordinary man caught up in a high-stakes criminal conspiracy. In this fast-paced whodunit, Liam Neeson plays Michael, an insurance salesman whose daily commute is interrupted by a mysterious stranger. Michael is presented with an extraordinary opportunity – and a dangerous choice. What would you do?
