  1. Please make sure you’ve chosen your course or product carefully. We don’t refund course or product fees.
  2. Once your course has commenced, there are no transfers. 
  3. We reserve the right to cancel or terminate a course or refuse any enrolment as permitted by law. We also reserve the right to change the presenter of a course in certain circumstances. Naturally, if a course is cancelled by us, you’ll be offered a credit note or full refund.
  4. You also should understand that the course materials are copyright and you agree never to sell, rent or otherwise distribute your course materials in any way.
  5. All enrolled students are automatically included on the Australian Writers' Centre's mailing list which informs people about upcoming courses, writing opportunities, author events, competitions and exclusive discounts with our partners. If you desire you are welcome to unsubscribe at any time.
  6. When you have enrolled in a course with a start date and a tutor (“tutor-led courses”): If you can’t attend the course you’ve booked into, advise us in writing at least two weeks before the course starts, and you’ll receive a credit note for the full value of the course. You can use this credit note towards another course.
    In exceptional circumstances, special consideration may be given for withdrawals or transfers within the two-week period. If this occurs, you’ll be charged a $50 administration fee and a credit note will be issued for the remaining amount. Exceptional circumstances are defined as serious personal considerations or illness (documentation will be required). The Australian Writers’ Centre can’t accept responsibility for changes in your own work commitments.
  7. When you have purchased a course that does not have a start date or a tutor (“self-paced courses”): You have access to this course for 12 months from your purchase date. This is an online self-paced course. It doesn’t include any one-on-one tutoring.
  8. When you have purchased “Short Story Essentials”: You have access to this course for 12 months from your purchase date. This is an online self-paced course. You don’t have a personal tutor DURING the course. But, once you’ve completed it, you can submit a short story of up to 2500 words and you’ll receive feedback on it from your tutor. Your submission must be received within 12 months of your purchase date.
  9. When you have purchased “Writing Chapter Books for 6-9 year olds” or Laugh Out Loud” as an online course: You have access to this course for 12 months from your purchase date. This is an online self-paced course. It doesn’t include any one-on-one tutoring. But, once you’ve completed it, you can submit a small writing exercise and you’ll receive feedback on it from your tutor. Your submission must be received within 12 months of your course start date.
  10. When you have purchased “Writing Picture Books Masterclass” as an online course: You have access to this course for 12 months from your purchase date. This is an online self-paced course. It doesn’t include any one-on-one tutoring.  But, once you’ve completed it, you can submit your pitch and book blurb and you’ll received feedback on it from your tutor. Your submission must be received within 12 months of your purchase date.
  11. When you have purchased “Creative Writing Quest for Kids”: You have access to this course for 12 months from your purchase date – you can refresh your knowledge at any time during this period. And, once the course has been completed, the student can submit their story to receive feedback on it. The submission must be received within 12 months of the course start date.
  12. When you have enrolled in “MOJO MONTH”: You have access to this course for 2 months from your purchase date. This is an online self-paced course. It doesn’t include any one-on-one tutoring.
  13. When you have subscribed to the “Freelance Writing Masterclass Program”: It's really important to us that you read and understand the full terms and conditions for this program.
    For members paying month-to-month:
     You agree to pay $109 a month and are able to cancel at any time.
    For members committing to a minimum of 12 months: You agree to pay $65 a month for a minimum of 12 months. After that you will automatically be billed $65 monthly and can cancel at any time.
  14. When you have purchased a Gift Voucher: Your recipient has 3 years to redeem their gift voucher. The expiry date of a gift voucher cannot be extended.
    For $ value vouchers only: Gift vouchers can be used towards any course we provide at the Australian Writers' Centre, including our online tutor-led and online self-paced courses. If the gift voucher is not for the full value of the course, the recipient will be required to pay the balance upon enrolment. To redeem the gift voucher, the recipient must call the Australian Writers' Centre on (02) 9929 0088. The recipient will be advised of the enrolment conditions for their course upon enrolment. 
    For course-specific vouchers only: If you are purchasing a course-specific voucher at a discounted price, it may be possible for the recipient to transfer the voucher value to a different course. And by “voucher value”, we mean the price paid when the voucher was purchased.
  15. Special condition – early bird offers: Early bird offers are valid only for the specific course starting on the specified date. The reduced price is not transferable to another course or a later course date. If you are unable to attend this course and receive a credit note, it will be for the value of the early bird offer and you will need to pay the balance of the full-price course when you redeem your credit note.
  16. Special condition – promo codes: Promo codes are valid only for the time specified and the expiry date cannot be extended.  The reduced price is not transferable to another course or a later course date. If you are unable to attend this course and receive a credit note, it will be for the value of the course fee less the promo code amount and you will need to pay the balance of the full-price course when you redeem your credit note. Promo code offers are only available for orders paid by credit card online or over the phone.
