"I got published!": Donna Webeck

We love hearing from our students no matter what they have to say, but when we hear of a student being published, we just want to shout it from the rooftops! We’re a little scared of heights, so we’ll go with a blog post instead.

Donna says:

I recently wrote an article to help a beautiful family raise the profile of the rare Inflammatory Breast Cancer. A young mum sadly lost her battle against this most rare and aggressive strain of breast cancer, leaving behind her two year old and four year old sons. Her mother and sister are determined to make a difference in the face of this tragic loss and help educate young mums as IBS is often confused with mastitis.

Essential Baby ran the story and it was shared on over 2500 Facebook users walls, ran on the SMH website and also the Canberra times picked it up. Most importantly, it did as we hoped; raised much needed awareness.

I'll forever be most proud of this story and that fact; writing and sharing stories truly can make a massive difference.

Every commission I receive is all down to the Australian Writers' Centre course I completed – no success would be possible without it!

Congratulations Donna! Wanna read what she wrote? Read the article here.
If you have a success story to share with us, you can do so right here. We’ll share it with the world!
