Kate Hennessy

Kate Hennessy is a professional writer who splits her time between corporate writing, travel writing, journalism, editing and communications consulting.

As a travel writer, Kate's travel stories can be seen regularly in The Guardian, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Vice/Noisey, The Saturday Paper, The Australian Financial Review (Life & Leisure), The Australian, The Wire, The Quietus, AWOL, Wellbeing Magazine, CEO Magazine, Get Lost Magazine, Marie Claire, A Hotel Life and more!

Prior to teaching at the Australian Writers' Centre, Kate’s experience includes a role as senior writer and editor at writing agency, The Editor Group, and as internal communications manager at Cisco (Australia & New Zealand).

Kate Hennessy has written for Insurance Australia Group, Sydney Theatre Company, WESTPAC, Channel 7, RedKite, Community Broadcasting Association of Australia, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, MBF and E*TRADE Australia and Goodman Property Group. She is experienced in a diverse range of business writing from intranet strategy, annual reports, case studies and corporate policy documents to shadow writing, website copy, brochures, media releases and marketing / publicity collateral.

As a journalist, Kate’s music reviews are published weekly in The Sydney Morning Herald/The Age. Her feature articles on business, travel, technology, the arts and health & wellbeing have been published in outlets including The Sydney Morning Herald, ABC Arts, ABC Science, The Guardian UK, Guardian Australia, The Australian Financial Review and The Daily Telegraph, and in magazines including The Big Issue, Get Lost Adventure Travel, WellBeing Magazine, COSMOS, Green Lifestyle and Smarter Business Ideas.
