Initially, I was driven by a curiosity to find out what copywriting was all about. I chose this course in particular because of its brevity (just 5 weeks), the promise of writing formulas that would guarantee results and the glowing reviews from former students.

I found the course extremely practical. The formula approach to putting words together and the revelations in every module kept us moving toward the ultimate goal of writing good copy.

Bernadette is great! I love her humour, her stories and the way she keeps the learning process fun, refreshing and down-to-earth. Feedback is honest but always very positive and motivating.

I loved the challenge of the weekly assignments. Bringing together all the things we'd learnt in that week's module and putting them into practice using true-to-life scenarios made me feel I was making real progress.

The course has shown me that there are many more avenues for my passion (writing) than I ever dreamed and that it is possible to turn a love of words into a 'real' job.

Just do it! The tutors are experts in their writing fields and adept at passing on their knowledge. The courses are practical and will teach you the nuggets of wisdom you need to get those words on paper.

Thank you, Bernadette, and AWC! I've loved every minute!

I really enjoyed the way the content was delivered. I found the audio lessons full of useful and concise information. I never felt bored or like it was a waste of time; there was value within every lesson.

I found the tutor very kind and knowledgeable. I was surprised at how laid back the delivery was (I've never completed an online course before so didn't know what to expect) but I appreciated this as it made me feel comfortable.

I enjoyed the assignments and, even though I was hesitant at first about sharing my writing with a group of people, I found that I could learn a lot more this way, not only from others reading my work but also getting to read others' work as well. I also like the positive assurance in the audio lessons. At times it was like listening to a friend in regards to the tone it was delivered in.

This course has given me some much-needed confidence to continue writing in my own time and the knowledge that I am good enough. Especially now I have learned the fundamentals to writing, I feel I can go confidently into my first draft.

The course content is extremely well put together and understandable and it is definitely worth the course fee/investment.

The feedback I received from Angela and my fellow writers was invaluable in helping me to progress my memoir. Angela was very thorough and provided effective feedback on what was working and what needed attention and, more importantly, how to address any problems. She was warm and approachable as well as being professional which is a great combo.

I completely changed the beginning of my memoir based on the feedback of Angela and other writers. This has changed my course profoundly. I wouldn't have seen it if I was flying solo!

A great big thank you to Angela and the AWC for the wonderful experience that this course gave me. Much appreciated and best wishes to you all.

I'd say if you want to learn the craft of writing or you want to write a book, sign up with the AWC - it'll take you forward on your path.

The tutor was great! Suzanne provides direct, helpful feedback. Things I did not see, faults I was not aware of, she was able to point out very politely.

It has provided me the confidence to continue to write. I have enrolled in Novel Writing Essentials.

If you want to write, and you have yet to perfect anything, you must take a course from AWC. You will thank yourself!

The feedback was of the highest quality and a highlight to each week's lesson to look forward to. Bernadette is the best tutor. Everything was well done.

I liked the feedback via video. I enjoyed the audios and handouts. Also, communicating with the other students and reading their work. I liked Suzanne's friendly manner, and her honest and encouraging feedback which was specific to the assignment. I can never get enough feedback from someone who's qualified to give it!

I found it motivational. I always get the feeling that AWC courses, Zoom sessions etc, have a raw honesty about them.

Go for it! By doing a course, you can only grow as a writer.

The course was continuously encouraging and motivational reinforcing that with focus, commitment, confidence and perseverance I too can be a writer.

Hearing the emotion felt by the people who were interviewed saying how elated they were when they received their first 'Yes' from a publisher after so many rejections - this reinforced that it can be possible and perseverance is key.

I would recommend the AWC and this course to any person who is considering being a writer, shrouded by doubt or questioning their ability and needs a wave of external encouragement and motivation to push them forward.

Nat's presentation style was relaxed and engaging - I can see why she's a hit with the kids!

The practical tips were really appreciated. I loved the emphasis on finding your own brand and personal stories to keep the kids engaged.

I enrolled in Reinvent Yourself and thought if I'm going to be serious about writing I need to learn more skills. I had a draft from some years ago and I thought this course could really help me.

I found the feedback was given on an individual basis, not generalised which I found very helpful. The constructive criticism was encouraging and eye opening for me and has given me a lot to work with.

I enjoyed reading others' assignments and having a writing commitment each week. I've learnt a lot about what is required in many areas of writing.

I feel I can come back to my story with a fresh approach using the skills and information from this course. I also feel more connected with other writers and sources of information now.

I am an artist with writing ideas and I enjoyed being tasked to create new ideas and write 4 stories with a clear guide. I was pleasantly surprised there were extra lessons for illustrators. Communication very personable and you feel supported by staff and other students.

Responses from tutor were quick. Critiques were gentle but poignant. Also commented on good points which help to keep me motivated.

Enjoyable, well structured, challenging, supportive great. Just a big thank you.

This course gives you everything you need and sets you up with practical assignments to start your own business right away. Bernadette is a copywriting legend.

I enjoyed the practical, hit-the-rubber-to-the-road tips. I have taken the first steps to get my new copywriting business on the map! My logo is nearly made, and soon cards will be on their way!

Bernadette's knowledge and skill is incredible and I feel very blessed to have learnt from her with these three courses AWC offer. Go do it. It's worth every penny. You'll learn so much.

A brilliant tutor. Bernadette is a great communicator, personable and has a tremendous depth of knowledge on the subject matter.

I like the style of posting each assignment on the one feed, and hearing feedback on each student. It gives a good point of reference to my own progress.

I have rediscovered a passion for writing and using my creativity.

Suzanne was so gentle and kind with her feedback, but you could also clearly see the constructive value of what she said. She was so specific, it was incredibly helpful. Oozing with knowledge. I have not had many opportunities for feedback with professionals before. Coming from a publisher/editor perspective, I found it extremely valuable. Thank you so much, Suzanne.

In the past, I have been nervous showing others my writing, but during this course, I've been giving it to friends and family each week for extra feedback. It seems to have broken through that barrier in seeking first readers.

Loved the specific tools, websites, etc to show exactly how to do keyword research, find source code, etc. Also loved the extensive coverage of my nemesis - writing a good title. Being given title formulas has relieved a lot of the anxiety I had around writing them. Felt I got good value in terms of content.

Bernadette has a very warm, open and personable teaching style.

I found the assignments really useful, as I used my real-life clients as examples, so got feedback on work that I can actually pursue with them.

The online format is very accessible, the course is well-paced and the assignments just enough to make you think, but not so onerous they become a burden. For the courses I've undertaken, the presenter has been extremely knowledgeable and generous with that knowledge.

I really loved this course. Felt like excellent value.

Thank you for making this available and to Pamela for writing such an excellent and useful course. I enjoyed learning new things that will prove helpful in my own writing. Audio and handouts were easy to follow.

It has made me more aware of various pitfalls to watch out for.

I have taken a number of courses (online) from AWC and think it is an excellent place for aspiring authors to learn what is needed to succeed in their writing goals.

I wanted to acquire more structured understanding and writing skills of this deceptively 'simple' category of children's books.

The course as a whole is very well structured, all modules instructive and enjoyable, offering a wealth of specific information on picture book writing. Being a librarian, I thought I knew something about picture books, but this course proved me wrong. Definitely an eye-opener!

A BIG thanks to Cathie! And I also appreciate the ability to access the course for a full year!

I will keep trying to improve my writing.

I've always loved stories and writing as a hobby. One night my mother suggested this program. I was keen to get advice and guidance from an experienced author on how to improve your writing.

The online tutor was very insightful and had very good genuine feedback. She explained the good feedback of my work and some areas that needed work on very clearly. I've learnt now the difference between a climax and a backstory.

I found the audio exercises most enjoyable because they included a guide of how to set your setting, which I've continued to do for other pieces of writing for school and non-school pieces. I've also gone back into one of my own pieces which I'm working on and used it.

If you enjoy writing as a hobby and are keen to get advice or another person's way of it, go for it. They have good exercises and audios. And it doesn't take up much of your time.

I really enjoyed sitting down with a notebook and pen in my spare time, listening to the audios and writing down key points. It was an enjoyable experience with zero stress.

It was interesting to hear about the journeys of published writers - their stories made me feel like I could do it too!

I am keen to get started - learning the skills I need to be able to start writing for publication. I am determined to put aside time regularly to write. The course has also broadened my outlook - my main goal has always been to write children's picture books but I can also now see myself writing other genres as well.

A great short course to just motivate you and to give an overall picture of the world of writing/publishing.

The tutor was superb. Angela gives great advice and leads the writer to their epiphanies. Imposter syndrome now has a name and when she rears her head, I feed her chocolate (thank you Angela Slatter).

I enjoyed the interaction with other writers, their insights and comments. It has inspired me to a better writing practice.

If you want to write well, try a course. If you want to enter a supportive writing community then this is the best way to do it.

The audio lessons were a lot of information jampacked into short sessions which I think is such a good way in which to take the work in. I could do one audio lesson a day and mull over the info for the rest of the day.

Vivienne was very good. She made a big effort to give us feedback promptly (even when she was impacted by the floods) and to answer all of our questions. Her personal feedback was easy to follow and apply in my future assignments. I like that she gave very personalised and detailed feedback so I had a lot to work with.

I've realised that I truly do love writing and even if I never get published I will continue to write because it absolutely sparks joy in me.

The biggest thing that I learnt is that it isn't so much about whether you're a fantastic writer or not, it's more about applying the principles that work. This is opposite to what I thought of freelance writing, I thought that you were either a good writer or not.

It's a practical, useful short course if you're looking to learn the basics of freelance writing.
